Farm Field Trips

Explore, Taste, and Learn About Where Food Comes From

Indian Valley Organic Farm & Garden is a teaching farm with a mission to increase food and farming literacy to youth throughout Marin County. We offer educational farm field trips to K-12 grade schools throughout the school year. Students help harvest and taste fresh vegetables, learn about compost and soil life, and explore the ecosystems on and around the farm. Through hands-on activities, students gain a deeper understanding of where food comes from and a taste for healthy eating. Participants in our farm field trips often go home with excitement for eating new vegetables and growing their own food. Field trips can be tailored to what students are learning in the classroom. Field trips are usually 2 hours.

If you are interested in bringing your class for a farm field trip, please contact the Farm Coordinator.

School Garden Technical Assistance

We strive to increase Marin County schools’ capacity to develop and fully utilize school to deliver quality garden-based nutrition learning and generate healthy produce for youth in these schools. To this end, we offer trainings in organic gardening and 1 on 1 consultations with school garden coordinators, parent volunteers, and teachers to help support their school garden programs. For more information about this program, contact the Farm Coordinator.
